Restart an old relay station, pick up lost transmissions from deep space, and expand into nearby sectors.

GET THE STATION RUNNING

The station wakes up from deep hibernation. Generate Energy, collect signals and asteroids that appear on the radar, and use what you gather to install new modules: solar panels, a better radar, a collector, and later a decoder.

Generating resources and expanding the relay station

READ THE MESSAGES

The signals carry pieces of old transmissions. Feed them into the Decoder Core and it rebuilds the messages one at a time. There are five in total, and together they tell you what happened here.

Decoding a recovered transmission

BUILD MORE STATIONS

Later, you unlock the star map and can build stations in other sectors. Each sector is different: one produces more Energy, another has richer asteroids. All stations share the same resources, while Network Points unlock upgrades that apply across the entire network.

Expanding the station network across different sectors

LET THE MACHINES DO IT

At first, you do almost everything by hand. Automate your stations and spend more time expanding the network.

Long Watch is currently in active development. An early playable build is available now.

away to turn off the CRT filter would be nice

Big agree. It’s not always an issue for me in games with stuff in the center of the screen, but having critical game text at the far left & right like this (where the curve distortion is strongest) makes this unreadable/unplayable for me.

(Edit: actually, looking at the screenshots I see other text is also pretty bad, bloom too strong and there’s something broken with the pixel font being used, the character spacing is all over the place; network screenshot shows NETWORK CORE with the “OR” in each pressed too close together, and that same issue is present with a lot of other letter sequences all over this screenshot, really hard to read)

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve made a few improvements to the CRT effect in the latest build and also added an option to disable it entirely.

I like the idea. But I dislike not getting any feeling for how long it takes until you can automate collection. I invested into collection but it does not seem to do anything at all.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I have a question: when you say collection didn't seem to do anything, you mean Collector upgrades not feel noticeable? Thanks!

the limited range of earlier ones, can feel bad...

Yes, I didn't notice any functionality. They drifted right beside my station and nothing happend.
